Educational programs in Russia are regulated in accordance with the Federal Law of December 29, 2012 N273-FZ “On Education in the Russian Federation”.
In the Russian Federation, the following levels of general education are distinguished:
– preschool education;
– primary general education;
– basic general education;
– secondary general education.
The Russian School in Abu Dhabi is the first school in the region with a Russian curriculum. The main language of instruction is Russian. Non-Russian-speaking children can enter the school, thanks to the educational program they will immerse themselves in the Russian-speaking environment and receive the necessary linguistic support. The curriculum also includes the study of English and Arabic.
In the first academic year (2022/2023), we enroll children aged 3-6 in the preschool department, in the elementary education department – children aged 7-11. In subsequent years, the Russian School in Abu Dhabi will open enrollment for higher grades. The curriculum includes the following subjects:

– A foreign Language (English)

Starting from grade 4 (Grade 5), schoolchildren write All-Russian test papers (VPR). They show the level of knowledge of students in a particular subject and allow the school to evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs, if necessary, correct them.
Students pass exams on the following subjects:
Grade 4 – Russian language, mathematics, the world around;
Grade 5 – Russian language, mathematics, history, biology;
Grade 6, 8 – Russian language, mathematics and two optional subjects.
To obtain a certificate of basic general education, 9th grade students must successfully pass the mandatory exams (OGE) in Russian, mathematics and two elective exams: history, physics, geography, biology, chemistry, social studies, literature, ICT, English.
To obtain a certificate of basic secondary education, 11th grade students must successfully pass the mandatory exams (USE) in two subjects – Russian language and mathematics (basic or advanced level). If a student wants to get higher education at a Russian university, he can choose any number of required subjects from the following: history, physics, geography, biology, chemistry, social studies, literature, computer science and ICT, English.
