The first week of the new 2026/2027 academic year has come to an end. We are delighted to welcome all our students back to school and to begin this new chapter of school life together.

School Uniform
We would like to remind you that on Fridays, public holidays, and during official school events, students are required to wear the official school uniform.
The official school uniform includes:
- white school shirt;
- school tie;
- school trousers/skirt.
If any uniform items are missing, they can be purchased from Zaks Uniforms.
Please note that compliance with the school dress code is mandatory. In accordance with the School Dress Code Policy, students whose clothing does not meet the established requirements will be asked to correct the violation. In cases of repeated non-compliance, a student may be sent home to change. Continued failure to follow the dress code may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the RSAD Student Behaviour Policy.
Whole School Writing Day
On Monday, 7 September, students from Grade 2 to Grade 12 will take part in an essay-writing competition during the first lesson. Participants will be asked to write an essay on a given topic.
The best essay in each grade will be awarded a prize.
Adaptation Period – Early Years and Grade 1
Please pay attention to the adaptation period schedule for students in the Early Years Department:
Pre-KG, KG1A and KG1B
- Monday and Tuesday: 7:30 AM–12:20 PM
- Wednesday and Thursday: 7:30 AM–1:10 PM
- Friday: 7:30 AM–11:30 AM
KG2
- Monday–Thursday: 7:30 AM–3:30 PM

Grade 1A and Grade 1B

Please collect children in Grade 1 at 4:30 PM. During the adaptation period, please do not leave children at school until 6:00 PM. Teachers will continue to observe the children’s wellbeing and adaptation and will inform you when they are ready to stay at school until 6:00 PM.

Parents of new students will receive an invitation by email to the address provided during registration within 2 working days. To activate your account, please follow the link in the email and create your own password.

Pick-Up List – Authorised Persons
We would like to remind you that the Pick-Up List must include the parents (mother and/or father) and, where necessary, any additional authorised persons who are permitted to collect your child from school.
- For new students: please complete the pick-up list form.
- To make changes: if you would like to add a new authorised person to an existing Pick-Up List, please use this form.
Independent Departure from School
Please note that students who need to leave school independently after lessons must submit a new application for the 2026/2027 academic year.
This permission is available only to students in Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 who are aged 14 or older. The application form is attached to this email.
If your child is unwell or the school nurse contacts you regarding your child’s health, the permission for independent departure is cancelled for that day. In such cases, parents are required to collect their child from school.
School Canteen
School meals are provided on a voluntary basis. A trial week is available before starting a regular meal subscription. The menu is included in the presentation attached to this email.
Please note that the Spare app is no longer available. Going forward, you will be able to manage your child’s canteen card and monitor their spending through the Zenda Canteen app (please see the attached information).
If you already had a Spare account with a remaining balance, the funds will be transferred to your Zenda account after you register.
To make a payment:
- Click on the name of the selected package and date.
- Follow the instructions and enter your child’s first and last name, as well as their GRADE (not “class”).
- Save a screenshot of the payment confirmation.
If your child has a food allergy or intolerance, please inform:
- the class teacher;
- the school nurse (nurse@russianschool.ae);
- the canteen staff (To: satheesh@foodnationme.com; CC: info@russianschool.ae).
If the school meals are not suitable for you or your child, you may send your child to school with a lunch box. All lunch boxes are stored in the canteen on designated shelves during the school day.
We strongly encourage families to follow the principles of healthy eating. The following items are not permitted at school:
- fizzy drinks;
- crisps;
- chocolate bars;
- sweetened yoghurts;
- nuts.
Food deliveries from restaurants to the school are not permitted.
Absence Notifications and Medical Certificates
The absence notification form (attached) should be sent to reception@russianschool.ae.
Please note that absence notifications and all medical certificates should be sent only to this email address and in PDF format.
If a medical certificate has been issued in Russia or another country outside the UAE, it must be translated into English and notarised. Please take this requirement into account when preparing the documents.
Requesting a Certificate of Enrolment
If you require a certificate confirming that your child is enrolled at our school, please submit your request in the designated request book at the school reception.
The document will be prepared within four working days.

Russian Language Centre / Saturday School
Our school also hosts the Russian Language Centre, which offers Saturday School programmes and Russian as a Foreign Language classes.
On 5 September, we invite you to our Russian Language Centre Open Day.
- From 10:00 to 11:00 AM, there will be an opportunity to meet the teachers and take part in an introductory, game-based assessment to help determine the most suitable group for your child.
- From 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, there will be a presentation of the Russian Language Centre, where you can learn more about our programmes. Guests will also receive prizes and gifts!

5th GCC Exhibition for Training & Education
From 14 to 16 September 2026, the 5th GCC Exhibition for Training & Education will take place at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Abu Dhabi.
The exhibition will bring together leading educational institutions and training centres. Participants will have the opportunity to explore educational programmes, further study opportunities, and professional development options.

Abu Dhabi Sports Championship (ADSC)
We invite RSAD students to take part in the Abu Dhabi Sports Championship (ADSC) during Term 1.
Available sports:
Badminton — for students born between 1 September 2009 and 31 August 2019.
Archery — for students born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2017.
Swimming — for students born between 1 September 2011 and 31 August 2017.
Please note: completing the form only indicates your interest in participating and does not guarantee registration for the competition. The PE Department will review the applications and contact parents to confirm their child’s participation.
Forms are available until Sunday, 13 September.
Primary Reading Club – Grades 2–5
We are pleased to announce the launch of the Primary Reading Club, a reading club for students in Grades 2–5.
During the sessions, students will read and explore interesting facts and new vocabulary, as well as keep their own “Reader’s Passport.”
The club meets once a week for 40 minutes. Participation is voluntary, and registration is through the class teacher.
